Theater Festival
My design for the Oakland School for the Arts Theater Festival addressed a critical challenge—deliver a visually interesting set that would frame many different kinds of theater performances. I decided a proscenium would be a great way to draw focus to the actors, but to make it visually lighter, I took inspiration from the lattice ironwork of old train stations—painted a verdigris green to mimic weathered copper. We added a back cyc to support projection.
