These designs never became full sets due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The set with the white background was meant for the palace scenes. The idea was for Rosencrantz and Guildenstern to be standing on a realistic floor that disappeared into a misty unknown, as if their minds are lost. If the show had happened, this sense of an infinite background would have been created with a Cyclorama. The design with the sea backgound was for the ship scenes. Again, I went with a more realistic foreground that transitioned into a mysterious background—in this case, a misty sea.

3D Model

Cardboard Model 

These are some photos of the cardboard model I made for the palace set. The basic form is made of foam-core, I made the tiles by printing a marble texture then cuting each tile and glueing it in place. For the wooden stage I cut and glued strips for balsa wood and then stained them the desired color.
